Start with your venue
Look at the existing colours and materials in your venue. A garden, banquet hall and palace courtyard each offer a different starting point.
Choose a feeling before a colour
Decide whether you want warm and intimate, fresh and airy, or dramatic and celebratory. This makes it easier to edit a mood board.
Build a small, connected palette
Choose one main colour, a supporting neutral and an accent. Carry the combination through florals, draping, signage and table details.
Check materials in the actual light
Flower tones, fabric and metallic finishes can look different in daylight and under warm evening lighting. Review samples whenever possible.
